Urgent Printing isn’t a startup with a web form and a trade printer on speed dial. Our roots go back to 1976, when R.G. Scales started trading as a commercial printer and bookbinder in London. The business later became The Document Centre, and in 2017 we launched urgentprinting.co.uk focused entirely on same-day and urgent work. Urgent Printing Limited was incorporated in 2018.

That’s fifty years of continuous London print and binding experience. We’ve printed through technology shifts from litho to large-format digital, and our team knows how to handle the kind of rush jobs that less experienced shops turn away.

File requirements and our File Checking Service

File format: Orders placed through our website must be supplied as PDF. This ensures consistent colour reproduction and avoids the formatting issues that plague Word documents and PowerPoint files in print.

File Checking Service: We offer this on every order. Before we print, we check your file for:

Resolution (is it high enough for your chosen print size?)
Bleed and trim (will the finished product look right?)
Colour mode (CMYK for print, not RGB)
Font embedding (to avoid substitution issues)

If anything needs adjusting, we’ll contact you before printing — not after.

What is same day printing?
Same day printing means your order is printed, finished and ready to collect or dispatch on the same working day you place it. At Urgent Printing, we offer three same-day tiers: Full Day (order by 10 am, ready by 4 pm), 4-hour Express (order by 1 pm) and 2-hour Express Plus (order by 3 pm).

Can you really print everything same day?
Yes. Every product listed on our website is available with same-day turnaround. The business was built specifically for urgent and same-day work — it’s not an afterthought or a premium add-on.

What’s the latest I can order for same day printing?
The latest cut-off is 3:00 pm for our 2-hour Express Plus tier. For 4-hour Express, the last order is 1:00 pm. For Full Day same-day service, the last order is 10:00 am. All cut-offs apply Monday to Friday only.

Do you offer 24-hour printing in London?
Our shop is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. We don’t operate 24 hours, but our online ordering system is available around the clock — orders placed outside business hours are processed first thing on the next working day. With a 2-hour Express Plus turnaround, an early-morning order can be ready by mid-morning.

How much does same day printing cost?
Pricing depends on the product, quantity, paper stock and finishing. Use our website to get an instant quote — select your specification and quantity and the price updates automatically. Same-day turnaround is included in the price on all standard products; there is no same-day surcharge.
